90 percent of Tesco-stores make daily food donations
The fight against food waste is a op priority for Tesco. The food rescue program of the Hungarian Food Bank, works smoothly even in the current, changed circumstances: the participating stores donate food that can no longer be sold but can still be consumed to those in need on a daily basis. Since the declaration of the emergency alone, a total of 552,000 kilograms of food has thus been donated to charity. Currently, 185 of the 201 stores in Hungary are already participating in the food rescue program, several of which have started donating in recent weeks.
