Grapevine golden yellow disease has already appeared in the Pannonhalma wine region
During the intensive investigation ordered by the Government, the laboratory tests of the National Food Chain Safety Authority (Nébih) identified another Grapevine flavescence dorée (FD) phytoplasma infection, this time in the Pannonhalma wine region. The quarantine pathogen is already present in 21 wine regions. Preventive measures remain of paramount importance in the control of the disease.

The grapevine golden yellow disease was confirmed by the Nébih laboratory from grape leaf samples showing symptoms taken in the settlements of Kajárpéc and Győrszemere in Győr-Moson-Sopron county. With the two test results, the Pannonhalma wine region has also been included in the domestic wine regions where the presence of the quarantine pest has been officially confirmed by the authority.
The plant protection experts of the regionally competent county government office will begin the necessary quarantine measures based on the laboratory test results
The goal is to eliminate the infection caused by the pest and prevent its further spread. Preventive measures continue to be of paramount importance in the fight against the disease. Nébih once again calls on all grape owners to regularly check their plantations and notify the authorities immediately in case of suspicion.
