Humans have been breeding poultry for 18,000 years
By examining about a thousand fossilized eggshells, U.S. researchers have found that poultry has been bred for 18,000 years by humans in the Pleistocene period.
Findings found on the island of New Guinea said that the world’s most dangerous bird, the cassowary was the first farmed winged bird long before the poultry was domesticated about 9,500 years ago, CNN news website reported. (MTI)
