Mangalica festival to be held in Debrecen
The mangalica has become the big hit of home cuts – Tóth Péter, president of the National Association of Mangalica Breeders said this weekend in Debrecen at the press conference announcing the seventh Debrecen Mangalica Festival.
The expert said that there are 248 mangalica farms in the country, the number of the registered breeding sows is 9600.
The majority of the breeders are using family farms. An average of 40 sows are kept at each farms, but there are about 150 breeders who have 10-20 sows. (MTI)
