The hail-reduction system will start from May

From May it is possible to use the Jéger, the hail damage reduction system in the whole country – agrarszektor.hu wrote. However, according to the experiences of insurers and the system operators the devices will not provide 100 percent protection against the sudden storms, it would be truly effective with agricultural insurance.

In Hungary there are four agricultural insurance schemes covering the damage caused by hail damage, but the ice-hunting system, the Jéger, covers the whole country from May. According to the data of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK), 20 percent of all agricultural damage is caused by hail – according to the Hungarian Association of Insurers (MABISZ).
