Eight times more contraband cigarettes were seized in the first five months of 2016 than in the first five months of 2015
In the first five months of this year, eight times more contraband cigarettes were seized, compared to the same period of last year, according to the data of the National Tax and Customs Office (NAV) – the NAV told MTI on Tuesday.
According to the statistics of NAV in January-May this year, nearly 170 million cigarettes without Hungarian excise stamps were seized in a value of 5.7 billion HUF, while a year before 20.5 million cigarettes in a value of 787 million HUF. The number of seizures increased nearly fivefold to 8028. (MTI)
