Czech retail sales rose in May
Retail sales increased in the Czech Republic in May. While in April, increase was 1.5 percent in May it was 1.2 percent, compared to the previous year – the Czech Statistical Office announced on Thursday.
The increase in retail sales in May is mainly influenced by the sale of vehicles. Car sales and car repairs sales increased by 3.8 percent, while the sales of non-food items increased by 1.4 percent.
The growth in turnover of the internet stores, and mail order services continue to increase rapidly. In May, growth was 22.7 percent on an annual level. (Kokes János, MTI)
