FM Minister of State: EU agricultural subsidies after 2020 will be decided in May
EU state and government leaders will decide on the EU’s after 2020 budget and on the amount of resources allocated to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in May – Czerván György, Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture (FM) told Kossuth Radio.
According to the Minister of State, we will have to pay attention to retain the current 3.2 percent ratio in the CAP “cake” while the “weight” of Hungarian agriculture is 2 percent in the EU, he added.
Czerván György told the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is the most effective economic policy of the Union. He also pointed out that, without EU subsidies, only crop production would be successful in Hungary and in the case of livestock production only the poultry sector would be profitable. (MTI)
