By the end of May, a significant number of bookings are expected in tourism, and the prospects for the high season can only be said for sure – Semsei Sándor, president of the Hungarian Tourist Destination Management Association (MTDMSZ) told M1 news channel.

Currently, much of the market is still waiting. Restrictive measures have eased for rural residents these days, but experience has shown that people are still waiting 2-3 weeks with a booking – he added. Everyone is hoping that domestic tourism will recover in the high season, he stressed, noting that a new type of demand seems certain. Consumer habits will change and domestic tourist areas will have to come up with strategies within a few weeks that will be able to address these new types of demand – Semsei Sándor added. (MTI)
