Hungarians crossing into Romania buy flour imported from Hungary
Many Hungarians work in Romania, and there are more and more people who cross over to Romania from the border towns to refuel or shop – in the latter case, in a comical way, they buy Hungarian flour at a better price than at home.
According to Csaba Békési, head of the labor office of Bihar county in Romania, unemployment is lower there than in Eastern Hungary, and integration is not a problem either. According to a Cluj-Napoca expert, Romania is now more developed than its neighbors, so this will become more and more of a trend – reports RTL.hu based on a report from the Romanian Pro TV.
On weekends, Hungarians mainly come to shop. They come very often, complaining about the sugar crisis and that they can’t even buy flour anymore, and they buy from us the flour that we imported from Hungary – a saleswoman told the crew.
