Popeyes is coming to Hungary – the first Budapest restaurant will open in the fall
The Hungarian fast food market is about to expand with a new player: this fall, the first Popeyes restaurant will open in Budapest. The New Orleans–based chicken chain is being introduced to Hungary by Fusion Group Zrt. and its subsidiary, Fusion-BP Restaurants Kft., which will act as the brand’s exclusive developer and operator in the country – reports Pénzcentrum.
Popeyes stands out for marinating its chicken for twelve hours in a unique Cajun spice blend, hand-breading it, and then frying it to a crispy finish in a specially developed oven. This process combines culinary tradition with modern technology.
The brand’s entry into the Hungarian market marks another milestone in Popeyes’ European expansion: in recent years, the chain has opened restaurants in Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Romania, France, the Czech Republic, and Italy.
“We are proud to bring such an iconic brand to the Hungarian market, which continues to grow dynamically both worldwide and across Europe. The opening of the Budapest restaurant this fall represents the first chapter of Popeyes’ story in Hungary. We are convinced that the brand will quickly win the hearts of locals, and soon customers across the country will be able to enjoy the world of Popeyes.”
– said László Sümegi, Managing Director of Fusion-BP Restaurants Kft.
The company expects the Budapest opening to attract strong interest, so customers should be prepared for long lines in the first days.
