he REpoint system introduced by MOHU Mol Hulladékzágászólji Zrt. ensures nationally that the redemption fee for beverage packaging can also be transferred directly to the bank account – MOHU told MTI.
They added that the development enabling instant bank transfers is also unique at the international level, there is no such national system-wide solution anywhere else in Europe.
A customer returning a plastic bottle, glass or aluminum can can get HUF 50 back in three ways after throwing the packaging into the machine. On the one hand, as a voucher that can be redeemed in the store, on the other hand, you can offer it to charity or – thanks to the new, Hungarian-developed REPont application – you can immediately transfer it to your own bank account.
According to the information, the REpont application was launched and became available for download at the end of May, which was developed under the guidance of MOHU and with the involvement of external partners (MA-Coding, Envipco, Tomra, Sensoneo, Alerant, Raiffeisen Bank). After downloading the application and the short registration process, you can request an immediate refund at the REpoint machine by entering your bank account number.
The application also offers other useful functions, among other things, you can view the nearest REpoint vending machines, and by clicking on the points on the map, you can check the store’s opening hours, addresses, and the type of beverage packaging accepted by the vending machine.
