Hungary has the lowest shopping center area rate per capita in the region
Within the region, Poland leads with 225 square meters of shopping center space for one thousand inhabitants, followed by Slovakia (221 square meters) the Czech Republic (210 square meters), while in Hungary this ratio is 136 square meters – the latest datas of Cushman & Wakefield property consultant told MTI on Thursday.
This year, 730 thousand square meters of new shopping center space has been or will be handed over. Next year the handover of 760 thousand square meters is expected.
In Europe a total of 1.8 million square meters were handed over in 2013. The specific area per capita in EU countries is an average of 262 square meters per 1000 inhabitants, while in the Middle Eastern European region it is only 209 square meters. (MTI)
