22 to 25 thousand tons of honey is produced every year in Hungary
In Hungary, an average of 22 to 25 thousand tons of honey is produced each year – Mészáros József, managing director of the Hungarian National Beekeeping Association (OMME) told MTI on Wednesday.
The managing director reminded that the Hungarian honey’s annual revenue is approximately 60 billion HUF, with an average price of 3 euros per kilogramme. The bees are also pollinating the plants, so beyond the quantifiable revenue, the bees bring such additional benefits to the national economy that are invaluable. (MTI)
