Hungary produced the majority of sunflowers in the European Union
In terms of sunflower production, Hungary is in first place in the European Union. The harvested volume is more than 1.8 million tons this year – Czerván György, Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture (FM) told at the professional forum of the National Agricultural Economics Association (NAK) on Thursday in Dunaharaszti.
After last year's downturn, in the first half of this year, the increase in the gross added value in agriculture has been close to 11 percent, and according to the expectations, with the second-quarter results, agriculture will be heavily involved in this year's expected 2.5 percent GDP growth.
