Hungary is a net pig exporter
According to the Agricultural Economics Research Institute’s (AKI) latest report, in the European Union the price of ‘E’-category pig was EUR 1.35/kg in December 2014 – 21 percent less than in December 2013. Raw milk’s average production price was HUF 97.77/kg, down 8 percent from the level of one year ago. In the same period there was a 16-percent increase in the quantity of raw milk purchased from farmers. Hungary’s like-for-like wine import dropped 13 percent in January 2015. 87 percent of our import was bulk wine and almost all of it came from Italy. As of bottled wines, 41 percent was imported from Germany, 31 percent came from Italy and we bought 12 percent from Spain. In the examined period the value of wine import (bulk and bottled combined) fell 28 percent: bottled wine import’s value rose 15 percent but bulk wine import’s value slumped 48 percent
