The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Gyermelyi Zrt. At the handover of his new investment, he reported that the pasta manufacturing company is expanding its capacities by approximately 14 billion forints and creating a small solar power plant, for which the state is providing 2.5 billion forints in support, as a result of which more production units will be built over the next two years.

In his speech, he underlined that the government attaches strategic importance to the Hungarian-owned company, which covers half of the domestic dry pasta consumption, and whose operation fundamentally determines the economy and labor market conditions of the surrounding settlements.

He pointed out that according to a recent UN report, approximately 750 million people are currently hungry worldwide, which represents a serious setback.

“There are obviously many reasons for this, of which the most important is what we are experiencing firsthand in terms of weather extremes, but at least as serious among the reasons is the series of economic crises caused by wars and political conflicts,” he stated, specifically referring to the negative effects of the fighting in Ukraine, which has been going on for more than three years.
