Hungary has grown into a festival great power
Hungary has grown into a festival great power. This process is strongly supported by the government, because festival tourism is one of the driving sectors of tourism – the Minister of State of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office said on the first full day of the VOLT Festival, at a press conference in the Main Square of Sopron.
Speaking about the forms of support, Dömötör Csaba said that a reduced VAT rate of 18 percent has been applied to festivals since 2012, and this year the Hungarian Tourism Agency supports events with 1.3 billion HUF, and the Ministry of Human Resources provides 750 million HUF support at 67 locations.
