Hungary will be at the forefront in the restriction of the trans fatty acid content of food products
If the regulation on trans fatty acids in food products comes into force in the autumn, Hungary will be the third country within the European Union, where this harmful ingredient will be minimized in food products – Bánki Erik EPP MEP, told on Friday in Budapest.
The politician said that the Hungarian regulation is in the phase of preparation, but “the regulation will be definitely progresive.”
The Department of Human Resources announced the draft regulation on restricting the trans fatty acid content of food products in March. According to the regulation, those food products cannot be marketed that have more than two percent trans-fatty acid content. (MTI)
