Edenred comes under Hungarian ownership and is renamed Rewin
Edenred, the largest player in the domestic, widely expendable benefits market, will be owned by Hungarians and will continue to operate under the name Rewin. Part-owner András Gyenes, who is expected to take over the company’s leadership position, was previously the regional CEO of Unilever and the deputy CEO of Magyar Telekom. The new brand will continue to operate with the company’s current full team of experts and its usual organizational structure.
The employer and B2B benefits that Edenred Hungary currently offers to employers, indirectly to employees and other business partners will soon be available under the name Rewin. The name change will take place after the completion of an acquisition process, as a result of which Edenred’s Hungarian subsidiary will be under domestic ownership by the end of 2023 at the latest. Among the new owners – a family asset manager, the ZMH Group – is András Gyenes, an internationally renowned senior executive from the FMCG, trade, service and telecommunications sectors, the former regional CEO of Unilever and the former deputy CEO of Magyar Telekom, the executives of Rewin office holder.
“Edenred accepted the offer of our investor group. With the takeover, the new owners will on the one hand ensure the continuous operation of the company, which has been present on the domestic market for 30 years, on the other hand, they are committed to the further development of the product range, such as the introduction of innovative digital payment solutions.”
– said András Gyenes in connection with the change, who has been active as a mentor and investor in the Hungarian startup world in recent years.
