METRO AG’s new CEO has Hungarian experiences as well
A new CEO has been appointed as the head of METRO AG. Philippe Palazzi (47) has been a member of the senior management of the company since July 2015.
The shareholders of the group decided in February that they split the company into two parts to enable the two independent companies to concentrate more on their own areas. According to the decision, a leading wholesale and food expert company was established, still under the name of METRO, and a European market leader in entertainment electronics, CECONOMY.
The group, which has been strengthened so far, is constantly evolving and is now continuing with a new CEO. The 47-year-old Philippe Palazzi has worked for the METRO Group for 20 years, during which time he has been responsible for several subsidiaries in several countries including France, Portugal and Spain. He has used his talent in various positions, he has been leading the Italian chain of stores successfully, and he has been the purchasing manager of the Hungarian METRO Nagykereskedelem (Wholesale).
