Hungarian rice and blue wheat flour are also featured on the Hungarian community stand at the Biofach exhibition
Europe’s largest organic trade fair, Biofach in Nuremberg, is back again. The event is one of the continent’s most significant organic food and cosmetics events, attracting around 35,000 professional visitors every year. At the trade fair, which will take place between February 11-14, 2025, 12 exhibitors will offer their products and services at the 117-square-meter community stand of the Agrármarketing Centrum. The Ministry of Agriculture will be represented at the exhibition by Zsolt Feldman, State Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development.
In addition to the previously familiar and sought-after product range, the Agrármarketing Centrum exhibitors will offer many special and novelties at the continent’s most renowned organic trade fair. In addition to organically certified vegetables, fruits, spice paprika powders, seed oils, and gluten-free products, professional visitors can also encounter curiosities for the first time, such as flour made from ancient grains or Hungarian-bred blue wheat. The blue wheat variety bred by the Szeged Grain Researcher has much more nutritional value than traditional wheat varieties due to its anthocyanin content, and it also has antioxidant and antibacterial effects.
After several years of absence, visitors can also encounter Hungarian-grown rice, puffed rice noodles, and rice flour at the community stand. Rice has been grown in Kisújszállás since the 1960s on an area of more than 1,000 hectares, and high-quality products are produced from rice varieties bred specifically for Hungarian conditions. The appearance of organically processed nut products and nut oils is also a novelty. It is a commendable achievement that Biopont Kft.’s BBQ-flavored millet ball was selected among the products of the “Novelty” stand presenting the most innovative products of the exhibition.
