Magyar Posta: Postal services will continue to be available in all settlements
Magyar Posta assured the population in a statement that postal services will remain available in all settlements of the country, even if thousands of post offices have been closed in recent years. The measure was necessary due to declining traffic, as fewer and fewer people use traditional postal services.
New solutions: postal partners and mobile mail
Magyar Posta has announced a partner program, which provides the opportunity for municipalities and businesses in small settlements with less than 1,500 inhabitants to take over check, letter and package collection services. The network of “postal partners” operating in this way quickly expanded, and today there are more than 650 such partners who perform postal tasks for a monthly fee of HUF 235,000.
Posta also offers a mobile postal service: 400 postal vehicles visit the settlements on a daily basis, and all basic postal services are available on them, such as check deposits, letter and parcel sending, vouchers, and bank card deposits and withdrawals at POS terminals. Mobile mail thus ensures that even residents of settlements without a post office have access to the necessary services.
New job opportunities for employees
Posta is trying to provide new jobs in nearby offices for the postal workers affected by the closures. The company aims to offer all relevant employees the opportunity to continue working within its own network.
Modernization and local support
Magyar Posta’s measures reflect the renewal of postal services and adaptation to the needs of the rural population. The new postal partners and the mobile mail network provide an opportunity for everyone to conveniently and quickly access the necessary services.
