A Hungarian manufactory won a gastronomic Oscar with its cinnamon-apple snail
The Bonbonier Chocolate Manufaktúra bakery won a star at the Great Taste Awards, also known as the gastronomic Oscar, with its snails rolled in puff pastry, made with caramelized cinnamon and apples. This was the 24th international recognition of the domestic manufactory.
After twenty chocolate and three ice cream awards, the bakery department of manufaktura also signed up among the international award winners.
“I found the classic snails to be boring, so we went back to traditional Hungarian ingredients and spiced up our traditional cinnamon snail with an apple that harmonizes well with cinnamon,” revealed Tamás Csomor, head of the Bonbonier bakery. In the jury’s opinion, he emphasized that “this apple cinnamon roll is visually impressive, and with its large layers of dough and the smell of cinnamon, it simply excites the appetite. When cut through, the layers of the apple are clearly visible. The pastry is flaky light and pleasantly crunchy. The caramelized taste of apple and cinnamon shines through, the roll itself is a fusion of flavors.”
