Hungarian groceries on the shelves of Chinese stores
More and more Hungarian companies conquer the Chinese market with the help of the Hungarian National Trading House (MNKH). Thanks to the government’s ‘Eastern Opening’ foreign trade strategy, in the last two years Hungarian export to China increased by more than EUR 100 million. MNKH played a key role in this improvement, for instance this autumn the trading house helped 10 Hungarian food companies to appear on the shelves of Cityshop – one of China’s most important retail chains – stores with their products (wines, sweets, snacks). Cityshop is the biggest retail chain in Shanghai that sells more than 20,000 different products in 13 stores in Shanghai and 2 in Beijing.
In advance MNKH’s experts had compiled a product portfolio that suited the profile of Cityshop and had also helped the Hungarian enterprises with counselling. Until the end of the year these Hungarian products will be promoted actively in Cityshop stores. Detki Keksz Kft. is one of those companies which have their products sold in Cityshop stores. Export manager Marianna Lipusz told: Asian countries are very much interested in high-quality, safe food products with an added value. MNKH was of great help to the company in popularising their products and entering new markets. Bonbonetti managed to enter the Chinese market this March, with the assistance of MNKH. Key account manager Diana Baróti told our magazine that two of their products got listed by the Cityshop chain: Chinese consumers can now try Cherry Queen and Bonbonetti Marzipan Hearts pralines.
