Starting this week, exclusively Home-selected bunch tomatoes will arrive at PENNY’s logistics centers, so customers can now add juicy bunch tomatoes from Hungarian producers to their Easter dishes. The discount chain is committed to bringing its customers fresh Hungarian produce at budget-friendly prices, which is why the company is preparing for the holiday with an attractive selection of Hungarian vegetables and renewed promotions this year.

The flavors of Easter – from the farm to the shelves

One of PENNY’s most important purchasing principles is to give preference to domestic suppliers, thus ensuring its customers fresh domestic goods. With the arrival of spring, the flavorful products of domestic producers are appearing on PENNY shelves one after another: starting this week, exclusively Hungarian cluster tomatoes will arrive in PENNY’s warehouses, followed in the coming days by several domestic vegetables, such as eggplant, bell peppers and celery. One of the defining ingredients of the Easter table, head lettuce, is also exclusively sourced from Hungarian farms.

and is sold in stores.

“When purchasing fresh produce, a key aspect is to offer products from domestic sources whenever possible. This way, we simultaneously support domestic producers and ensure that the goods reach the stores faster and via shorter routes, which also helps reduce the environmental impact. Our goal is to welcome customers with reliable quality, fresh ingredients during the Easter period, whether it is classic dishes or ingredients for lighter, spring dishes”

– said Péter Gáti, PENNY’s fresh produce purchasing group leader.

In line with the Easter holidays, PENNY stores will be open as follows:
