At the signing ceremony held at the American institution in Murray, it was announced that the two-year joint master’s degree program will start next September in the field of agricultural economics and crop production. Csaba Gyuricza, the rector of MATE, told MTI after signing the agreement that the launch of the joint training program takes the 25-year relationship between the Gödöllő-based university and the American institution, which was established by its predecessor, Szent István University, to a new level. The cooperation is facilitated by the similar climate of Kentucky and Hungary, the importance of agriculture, the similarity of the crops grown and the problems related to farming – the rector emphasized, adding that MATE and Murray State are comparable in size and number of students. Regarding the Hungarian-American master’s degree in agriculture, Csaba Gyuricza said that in the crop production training, students will learn about the most modern precision farming, but there will also be a place for areas related to new results of innovation, such as informatics, robotics, space and drone technology, which can increase the competitiveness of agriculture.
