Hungarian Confectionery Manufacturers Association: neither chocolate bunnies nor chocolate eggs will be cheaper
“War, crisis here or there, people always love chocolate,” said Dr. Róbert Török, director of the Hungarian Trade and Catering Museum, at the press conference of the Association of Hungarian Confectionery Manufacturers, who added that the confectionery industry always finds the right answers even in difficult times.
The organizational secretary of HUNBISZ already gave a lecture about the troubled times, in which it was said that according to the latest estimates, the turnover value of the Hungarian confectionery market will increase by 20 percent to HUF 310 billion in 2022.
It was also said that consumption is stagnant, and what is surprising is that last year it did not fall as much as it did during the 2008 crisis, or even during the pandemic or when NETA was first introduced.
