The success of Hungarian e-retailers despite the pressure of the international giants: the outstanding actors of the domestic online market were awarded
The Hungarian e-commerce market faces many challenges, as international giants such as Temu and Allegro conquer customers with their extremely favorable prices and intensive advertising campaigns. Despite this, there are also agile players in the domestic market who are able to grow and operate stably despite the pressure of the global recession and foreign competitors. The share of e-commerce is currently only 10% of the total Hungarian commercial turnover, but according to Growww Digital’s forecast, this may increase to 25% in ten years.
To stimulate the domestic market, Growwww Digital, the Digital Trade Association and Ecommerce Hungary created the HungarEcomm Stars award, which recognizes Hungarian e-retailers who are able to adapt to the rapidly changing market environment and can develop a competitive strategy at the international level. . At the award ceremony held at the Internet Hungary conference, outstanding domestic players were awarded in three revenue categories.
Greenman Kft., Nutriversum Kft. and Webshop Logisztika Kft. are among the companies with a turnover of HUF 1-5 billion, while WhiskyNet Kft. and Mobilredfox Kft. stand out in the HUF 5-10 billion category. Pepita Group Zrt., BioTech USA Kft., and iPon Computer Kft. were among the largest e-retailers with a turnover of over HUF 10 billion. When awarding the awards, not only sales, but also economic stability, digital development and the effectiveness of their strategy were decisive factors. The purpose of the award is to encourage domestic actors to face foreign competition and long-term, sustainable development.
