The 4th Street Fishing World Championship was held on October 25-26, 2025, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA, on the Fox River. This was the first time the world competition of such high quality was held outside of Europe. The Hungarian national team adapted best to the unfamiliar environment and fish, and celebrated the team and pair world championship titles with fantastic competition.

The Fox River is rich in fish, with wide, slow-flowing water and plenty of hiding places for predatory fish. Getting to know fish species that are not found in Europe was not an easy task. The Hungarian team was almost tied for second place after the first round, but they made a big splash in the second round, taking the lead and winning their first team world championship title with 9 points. Romania won the silver medal (11 points), and the bronze medal went to the French national team (19 points). Two Hungarian duos also made it to the podium in the doubles competition. The world champions were the duo of Gábor Antal – Attila Fürtös (4 points). The silver medal was won by the Romanian Attila Kerekes – George Toi (4 points), and the bronze medal was won by the Hungarian duo of Viktor Gégény – Zoltán János Kemecsei, who also scored 5 points.

The members of the Hungarian national team are: Péter Bosánszky, national captain, Alex Rigó, Gábor Antal, Attila Fürtös, Viktor Gégény, Zoltán János Kemecsei, Ferenc András Nagy, Tamás Nagy. MOHOSZ would like to thank the national and “Hungarian Team” professional federation sports support system partner ministries, organizations and companies for their support, as well as all the staff and volunteers who contributed to the teams’ preparation. We heartily congratulate all competitors and sports leaders on another outstanding international achievement of Hungarian fishing sport!
