An innovation of a Hungarian company helps the international sports giant to expand
Decathlon’s first store in Latvia opened in November with Hungarian-developed cash registers. The world’s largest sports equipment distributor has previously relied on the solutions of the Laurel Group in its launch in Austria and Serbia. The decision was based on previous good experience, the flexibility of the Hungarian service provider’s systems and the record-speed installation.
The Decathlon is expanding at a rapid pace. The chain, which has 1,647 stores in 25 Hungary alone and in almost 1,000 cities in 57 countries around the world, is the world’s largest sports goods distributor. The company has recently opened new positions in Central and Eastern Europe, the first in Serbia and Latvia, and the second in Austria.
