Hungarian Bioculture Association: organic farming and bio fuel production are in sharp contrast
Recently, we have read articles in several places that organic farming is more damaging to the climate than intensive conventional farming. This was published on the basis of a misinterpretation of a study conducted with the help of Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.
They interpreted the differences between the effects of the two production systems on the basis of the information that has been extracted. They claim that organic production requires a larger area than conventional because they do not use fertilizer.
It does not mention that, due to the content values of the organic fertilizers, the plant receives much more complex nutrients, not to mention the positive effects on soil, thus contributing to maintaining the nutrient supply capacity of the soils. (OS)
