The head of Bridgestone’s Tatabánya factory was awarded the Hungarian Golden Cross of Merit

Melinda Topolcsik, Managing Director of Bridgestone Tatabánya Termelő Kft. and Bridgestone Europe NV/SA Hungarian Branch, was awarded the Hungarian Golden Cross of Merit. She received the state award in recognition of her contribution to the development of the domestic economy and the strengthening of industrial innovation on the occasion of the national holiday of March 15.  

Melinda Topolcsik has been leading the Bridgestone factory in Tatabánya, one of Hungary’s leading automotive production plants, since 2017. He has more than 25 years of automotive industry experience, and as a board member of the Hungarian Automotive Industry Association, he also participates in the professional work of the sector.  

The award was presented to him by the President of the Republic of Hungary and he received it in a ceremony at the Ministry of National Economy.  

“I am honored to receive this award, which I value as a symbol of the obligation and responsibility of serving my country”

– said Melinda Topolcsik. 

Under his leadership, the company has implemented significant developments: In recent years, investments worth more than 100 billion forints have been made in the Tatabánya plant. The factory employs nearly 1,200 employees. The plant produces premium tires in more than 230 different sizes, most of which are exported to export markets, primarily European countries.

Under his leadership, the company’s complex CSR strategy was built, which serves the well-being and long-term development of the surrounding settlements, with a continuous presence and attention to local actors.
