Morgan Stanley would also support Hungarian foundations
Morgan Stanley’s civil society competition for Hungarian charities has opened for the first time. The global financial institution, which employs 3,000 professionals in Budapest, aims to support innovative ideas that have a tangible impact on the health, mental well-being and educational opportunities of children and young people. Winners can receive a grant of 100,000 pounds, professional mentoring and the opportunity to build an international network. The application deadline is July 7.
Morgan Stanley’s Budapest office – one of the global financial services provider’s largest IT and analytics centers – has been working with Hungarian civil society organizations since its opening in 2006.
In recent years, the company has launched a science orientation program for high school girls with the Women in Science Association called Smartiz, provided scholarships to disadvantaged students within the framework of the HBLF Romaster program, and supported talented Roma youth in partnership with the Van Helyed Association. The company’s employees participated in charity rowing competitions for the benefit of Bátor Tábor, which supports sick children, taught employees of civil organizations how to use modern technologies, and taught financial literacy to Roma children with the BAGázs Association.
“One of Morgan Stanley’s core values is the philosophy of giving back, the desire to give back to the community we are a part of. All this stems from the belief that a company can only be successful if the society in which it operates is also successful
– said Norbert Fogarasi, head of Morgan Stanley’s Budapest office. – The key to the success of a society is the next generation – that is why we have launched several programs that improve the life chances of young people, primarily with knowledge, skills, and knowledge – regardless of their background.”
