Magosz: more than 50 thousand people have already signed the agricultural petition
More than 50 thousand people have already signed the agricultural petition, the Association of Hungarian Farmers’ Associations and Cooperatives (Magosz) announced on its Facebook page on Wednesday.
The post stated that the European Commission is preparing to take away area-based subsidies from farmers and “flood the European market with dubious imported food.” “It is outrageous that some Hungarian MEPs also support this proposal,” they wrote. They continued that Magosz and the National Chamber of Agriculture – with the support of the government – have launched a collection of signatures against this; the petition can be signed on the website www.agrarpeticio.hu. “We will protect Hungarian farmers! Hands off agricultural subsidies!” they emphasized.
