Magazine: Destillata then and now
This year’s Destillata competition was taking place when the present issue of our magazine went to press. By this time Hungary has already won 5 grand gold medals! We finished 3rd in the ranking of countries and Agárdi Pálinkafőzde performed the best from Hungarian participants. Marketing director Csilla Tollas told that the level of the contest was high. Destillata is the kind of competition to which distilleries prepare very well.
Attila Csobolya, master distiller of Várda-Drink Zrt. made it clear that success at Destillata is the result of many years of hard work. In his view the level of Hungarian pálinka distilling keeps getting better. This improvement is the result of distillers’ cooperation and the fruit growing traditions of the region.
