Magazine: ULINK meeting: Unilever – past, present and future!
Members of the Former Unilever Network (VUKK) – plus the current management of the company and colleagues who have been working for Unilever for decades – met for the seventh time at the end of May. There were nearly 100 participants and András Gyenes managing director of Unilever company at the time welcomed everyone. For many 2014 and 2015 were difficult years, some people lost their jobs and many started working in new sectors. We heard success stories too and it became clear that having a large network of professional relationships – something like ULINK – is a great help when one is trying to find a new job. We can learn from each other’s experiences and meeting once a year is a perfect forum for this. Those former Unilever employees who are in their 40s now have reached some kind of a crossroads: they have already proved themselves, so which way should they go in the next 15-20 years? One thing is sure, they can be proud of what they have already achieved and they need to make sure that there is a balance between their private life and work. Chefs from Unilever’s Food Solutions business cooked the delicious meal for us and it is needless to say that we had Algida ice cream for dessert. There was a raffle as well, so many went home after the event with superb gifts. Relationships represent great value and if one takes good care of them, their value increases. ULINK is a good and sustainable system of relationships because it is rooted in real values. We are already looking forward to meeting again next year!
