Magazine: ULINK 2016
How time flies! ULINK members have met for the ninth time – former Unilever workers (who used to have their own club called VUKK) and current employees of the company gathered once again to be together and to share what’s on their mind. The fact that nearly 100 people gets together year after years shows how successful the ULINK initiative is. What is more, in 2016 the mini-ULINK concept was launched: members meet twice a year at professional workshops at the Unilever headquarters in the Blue Cube on Váci Road. This time the topics were how to use LinkedIn efficiently and Self Coaching. It is needless to say that these events don’t attract 100 but only about 40 people. Still, in addition to learning new things, those present also have time for a chat.
Personal connections have a great value and one needs to take good care of them every day. Keeping in touch with people is hard work but at the same time also a long term investment. Not to mention that if done well, it is fun too! The workshop’s keynote speaker was Regina Kuzmina, the managing director of Unilever, who spoke about several topics managers may be interested in. Although most ULINK members aren’t with Unilever at the moment, sharing thoughts and ideas with one another can contribute to the renewal of current Unilever employees. ULINK is an excellent forum for the young generation to see that relationships can also be managed in person and not just on the internet. The next such ULINK meeting will be held in the autumn.
