Magazine: More Christmas gift packs might be sold this year
Katalin Rosta, junior brand manager with Unilever Magyarország Kft. told Trade magazin that this year they pay special attention to the design of gift packs as it is one of the most important factors for consumers when choosing a Christmas gift pack. Since in recent years demand increased for premium packs, Unilever focuses on those too. Henkel Magyarország Kft.’s Szilvia Baranyi – trade and brand manager – revealed that they find it important to be present with Christmas packs in every price segment. What is more, they even integrated every Fa product containing pack into the Fa Loyalty Programme. Melinda Jáger, trade marketing manager of Beiersdorf Kft. informed us that NIVEA changed many things in the design of their Christmas gift packs. In two men’s and one women’s packs they put non-product gifts for the first time. Dorottya Tóth, Sarantis Hungary Kft.’s junior brand manager told us that they typically distribute lower-priced packs with a good price/value ratio. She added that sales are increasing year after year and they expect the same trend to prevail this year. In Hungary there is a growing number of health-conscious consumers who are looking for natural alternatives even when gifting. Annamária Marinova, marketing manager with Presto-Pilot Kft. spoke to us about satisfying this demand with DR.ORGANIC body and hair care products. Most of their gift packs are purchased in drugstores and hypermarkets. Unilever is Hungary’s Christmas gift pack market leader. This means great volume and a large number of pack types, therefore it is essential to start planning Christmas gift packs months before the season starts. In addition to Axe, Dove, Rexona and Baba products this Christmas tea gift packs also appear in the portfolio. Regina Homoki, Unilever Magyarország Kft.’s junior brand manager informed our magazine that a wide selection of Lipton and Saga packs would be available this season. Packs will contain the ever-popular mugs and tin boxes and some surprises. We learned from Katalin Rosta that in cosmetics gift packs customers are going to find the most popular products from the Unilever portfolio. As regards packaging, basically the same solutions are going to be used as last year: paper boxes, small bags and toiletry bags. The company only uses packaging solutions which meet the highest expectations. Henkel prepares for the season with 12 packs for men, 37 for women and 2 for children, using brands such as Fa, Fa Men Xtreme, Schauma, Gliss Kur, Syoss, Taft and Vademecum. Packaging-wise they stay with carton and small bag, plus there is going to be a limited edition tin box solution. Fa’s updated loyalty programme goes on with the recommendation of fitness world champion Alexandra Béres and already boasts nearly 5,000 members. Beiesdorf Kft.’s Christmas catalogue contains 11 NIVEA gift packs for men and 16 for women. In NIVEA toiletry bag consumers find novelties such as Supreme Touch shower cream, Labello lip balm or Diamond Gloss shampoo. NIVEA Men gift packs consist of classics such as NIVEA Men Originals shaving foam, NIVEA Men Cool Kick shower gel and Invisible Black&White Power roll-on deodorant. Women’s packs contain a jewellery box and men’s include a suit carrier. In 2013 Sarantis Kft.’s STR8 brand offers 3 types of gift pack to men and teenage girls are targeted with 2 BU gift packs. In STR8 packs there will also be coupons for race care test drives at discount prices. In the case of both brands the company will compile Shower Gel + Deodorant Spray and Shower Gel + Deodorant Natural Spray sets and this year’s new scents will be made available in the set: On the Edge from STR8 and Fancy Cinderella from BU. Presto-Pilot Kft.’s DR. ORGANIC skin and hair care product gift packs are not only natural but very efficient as well. By buying the gift packs for the price of two products shoppers not only get a free mini product, but also an attractive gift box. The 6 Christmas gift packs were compiled from the most popular DR.ORGANIC product groups. Body care gift packs contain organic Aloe Vera, organic manuka honey, youth preserving organic pomegranate and haling natural Dead Sea body care products. This year’s biggest hit is the gift pack composed of hair care products made with argan oil. The gift packs don’t feature any Christmas motif because these gifts can be given any time of the year
