Magazine: Culinary Olympics 2016
IKA Culinary Olympics are held every fourth year in Erfurt. In October 802 individual chefs from 54 countries, 32 national teams and 20 junior national teams were competing at the 24th Culinary Olympics. Singapore’s national team won the Olympics and Sweden finished first in the junior category.
Csaba Szabó from Törökbálint (Like bistro) was the best Hungarian participant: he came in 4th from 211 competitors in the cold dish category. Hungary brought home five gold medals: in addition to Csaba Szabó, in the pastry chef category Veronika Magyarné Fekete (Budapest.), in artistic confectionery Hanna Erdős and Jennifer Melanie Ziemons (Budapest), and Sándor Szabó (Mátészalka) were rewarded.
