Magazine: A success story that tastes like beer
Stari brewery was started two decades ago in Tapolca as a micro-brewery targeting the middle class with a better-than-average light beer. There and then the concept did not fully succeed, but the enterprise managed to survive – we learn from sales director Péter Starcsevics. Stari beers are made according to centuries-old German brewing traditions and these super-premium beers meet the requirements of the 21st century. The Starcsevics family simply wants to make very good beers and they seem to succeed: many four-star hotels already started serving their Stari beers, which are available in 0.33-litre twist-cap bottles or in casks. Stari beers:
• Stari Premium Pils
Made using only natural ingredients, this pilsner type beer contains no preservatives. Two types of hop give its special flavour.
• Stari Irish Red
A pleasant ale type beer made with high extract content, using caramel malt and special hop. Perfect for those who do not like bitter taste. Alcohol content: 6% v/v.
• Stari Sour Cherry Beer
Thanks to its 30-percent fruit content, this unfiltered beer recalls the taste of fresh sour cherry. It is the perfect thirst-quencher with an alcohol content of 3.3% v/v.
