Lajos Jakab, the owner of Gastrobázis got fed up with everyone complaining about the quality of catering course books – he not only speaks but would like to act too: – When I read the available course books I do not know whether to laugh or cry. They are often compiled from earlier books – so all the mistakes are repeated – and are already obsolete by the time they are published. I offered my teacher friends to give professional help in making modern course books, e.g. I would write, I would have the modern equipment we sell photographed for illustration purposes. Lajos Jakab has been importing these machines for 12 years and he supplies several schools with the equipment needed for teaching. He is of the opinion that in a large part of restaurants the kitchen is not well-equipped; it is the profession’s task to educate young people about modern machinery and teach them to be more demanding in this field.
