US fast food chain Chuck E. Cheese’s (CEC) targets children between the ages of 2 and 12 and their parents. CEC is among the top 100 restaurant chains in the USA, being the 84th biggest with 541 units and USD 440 million worth of food and drink sales in 2008. There is no CEC restaurant in Europe yet. Chuck E. Cheese’s plans to open at least 3 restaurants in Hungary in the near future and they are currently looking for franchise partners who have the necessary financial resources. CEC network development director Carlos De Leon answered our questions in writing: he told that they also target the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Russia and the Ukraine, where they would like to open 1-2 new units every year. Franchisees would have to cover the costs of opening and operating the new restaurants.
