Magazine: Just like the queen’s butler

Our magazine asked József Balázs about the preparation for MVI’s annual ball. He told that the event is going to take place on 1 December in Bükfürdő. This year the chefs of Boscolo and Gundel will also join the team that is responsible for making the dinner. Many of last year’s sponsors declared that they would like to support the event this year too. The programme of the ball will be finalised later. Since the venue is farther from Budapest than it was in 2011, MVI’s regional directors will have to do a good ‘acquiring’ job. As for the organisation work, László Jakabffy is responsible for all things in connection with the kitchen and Mr Balázs takes care of everything else. In his view his work is similar to that of the butler of Queen Elizabeth II. When the queen visited Budapest he was in control of everything. He did not interfere in the work of the heads of different units but when he raised his hand, the queen’s plate was taken away instantly.
