Magazine: What do Ráspi restaurant and the Mokonuts café in Paris have in common?
Prestigious French restaurant guide Gault&Millau introduced the so-called ‘pop’ category, in which places of casual dining – cafés, tea rooms, street food places, pizzerias, wine, beer and cocktail bars – are rewarded. In the 2017 edition of the guide, published in October, 120 places were given scores (online twice as many, 240). The best pop places can get 11-12 points. Just for a comparison: in 2015 the Hungarian edition of Gault&Millau gave 11 points to restaurants such as Ráspi – just as many as the score of Mokonuts café in Paris this year.
