Magazine: Artisan beer, industrial marketing
Hungarian artisan breweries have realised that appearing in specialist blogs and at beer festivals isn’t enough in marketing. There are several thousand beer competitions out there and winning prizes at these can be communicated really well in the Hungarian market. Szent András brewery of Békésszentandrás uses a really professional business approach: the statement on the bronze medal they won at a competition in Prague was prepared and sent to the press by a communication agency. Szent András’ marketing work is exemplary for small breweries because of other reasons too. They make an imperial-pilsner type beer called Monarchista. The same communication agency wrote the copy for its launch and they did a real good job. Conclusion: it isn’t enough to lay an egg, one also has to cackle!
