Magazine: Flavour evolution
There is no stopping in product innovation – this principle is also true for spirits, especially for vodkas and other ‘white’ distillates. Some manufacturers make the packaging more attractive – just think of Absolut vodka – but the most important is the flavour. After different fruits and vanilla or cocoa came the extremities. For instance Three Olives vodkas are available in cake, cola and other flavours. Van Gogh Vodka’s latest innovation is the peanut butter-raspberry jelly flavour. Bakon’s bacon vodka may sound even stranger – but only until you think of how well it goes with Bloody Mary, one of the 5 most popular cocktails in the USA!
