Magazine: Beware, fake beef!
According to Forbes magazine, thousands of US citizens are misled every day by restaurants where they claim they sell Kobe beef. Why? Because since 2010 Japan does not allow the export of Kobe beef, which is a registered trademark in Japan but US law does not recognise and protect this. If you are tempted to buy a 40-dollar Kobe burger in New York, don’t forget that it has nothing to do with Kobe.
