Magazine: Gault&Millau award winners announced
Every year when the new edition of the Gault&Millau guide is published, the winners of the Gault&Millau awards are also announced. In 2016 Mádi udvarház (Gusteau) became restaurant of the year (executive chef: Gábor Horváth). István Pesti, the chef of Platán restaurant in Tata was named executive chef of the year.

Kisvendéglő a Hargitához in Békéscsaba walked away with the best non-Budapest restaurant prize. Pajta bistro in Őriszentpéter won the award for the best up-and-coming restaurant. Best winery of the year: Szentesi Pince in Budaörs, best alternative restaurant: Beszálló Food Bar in Budapest, best restaurant owner of the year: Rosenstein family, best new talent: Ádám Garai.
