Magazine: Is it the last charge?
Balázs Szöllősi, the president of the Hungarian Drink and Product Vending Machine Association (MIÁSZ) told Trade magazine that at the end of August there were 31,000 registered vending machines in the National Tax and Customs Administration’s (NAV) database. All in all, in his view the mandatory registration is a good thing, but attention must be paid not to charge too much for integrating the special NAV modules into the vending machines, as the cost of mandatory registration has already been a great financial burden on vending machine operators. Mr Szöllősi informed us that the technical level of machines is lower than in more developed countries, but the number of new, modern vending machines is growing. Debit card or mobile payment is only possible at less that 5 percent of machines, because the hardware for this is expensive and banks charge relatively lot for transactions.
